I spent some time this morning browsing a few local thrift stores. It’s amazing the gems you can find when you take your time. Patience really pays off. I went to find a cute chair and/or desk but came home with two trays, two mugs, a jacket, a shirt, and three vinyl records. The grand total was only $10.25 and the money spent will go toward admirable causes — I cannot complain.
Check out my small haul below…
This shirt is a little big for me, but I bought it to wear as a light jacket. I was drawn to the cacti print and it was only $2.
I’ll admit that purchasing a jacket, or anything long-sleeved, during April in Arizona sounds crazy, but I couldn’t leave this petite-sized Liz Claiborne jacket behind. It, too, was only $2 and will get plenty of wear in the fall and winter.
If you know me, you know that I’m a sucker for ceramics. I also happen to love little trays because they can be used for storing or displaying so many things. I liked the simple print on this one by Sharon Olson and it was only 75 cents.
This was another neat find. It’s a tray made of brass that has artwork etched in it. I’ve got to shine it up a bit, but you can’t beat the half-off price of $2.50.
Can you own too many coffee mugs, too much stoneware? I guess only time and the kitchen cupboards will tell. These were only 75 cents each and one is a Lee Carver Studio Art piece, which might mean something.
It’s really hit or miss when looking for records at thrift shops. I’ve had some success in the past and was pleasantly surprised to find these three. Do I need to explain why I purchased them? Only 50 cents each for good music, the perfect deal to kick off Record Store Day weekend.
